Trained as a political scientist and a sociologist, Olaf Winkel is the managing director of the Horst-Görtz-Institut for IT security at the European Centre of Excellence (EURUBITS), University of Bochum, Germany. Besides, he serves as a head of the working group on IT in-novation and IT security at the University of Münster, Germany, which is a member of the Research Council on Data Security of North-Rhine Westfalia.
